S460+ Microhmmeter (a.k.a Digital Low Resistance Ohmmeter) is an instrument specifically designed for low resistance testing, its applications can range from testing bonding quality between metal components (i.e. lightning protection belt, ground beam structure, protection, floor bar, water pipe, radiator, toilet, door, and window, balcony, kitchen, etc.) to commissioning and maintenance of substation equipment, where measurements can be made on circuit breakers and bus bar joints. S460+ makes measurements by passing a current through the conductor under test and monitor the voltage across it using the 4 terminal method, thus the results it obtains are accurate as well as reliable. This instrument can be used across various industries with numerous applications.
The instrument also has the function of measuring the length of a cable. It does so by first measuring the resistance of a wire of a standard length, then it tests the resistance of the wire’s full length. It will be able to calculate the length of the wire through the resistance of the two tests. This instrument also comes with monitoring software, which allows users to upload the data stored in the meter to the computer to save or print.
